Seen any good movies lately?

I know I have.

The Journal’s fabulous Features editor Leslie Criss loaned me “Inherit the Wind”(1960) the other day after I professed my new-found love for Gene Kelly.

If you haven’t seen it, the movie is a fictional account of the famous “Monkey Trial” of the 20s.  Dick York stars as the teacher who tries to teach evolution in small-town (and small-minded) Tennessee, and Spencer Tracy is brilliant as his attorney. Kelly plays a reporter, and Fredric March is superb as the prosecuting attorney.

The acting is excellent and the story is even better. This movie is sure to tick you off in one form or another, and it provides lots of great discussion topics afterward.
