Buckcherry, A7X, Shinedown, Saving Abel show…

25 Nov

Hey Scene Now readers,

Welcome to the Scene Now’s live blog of the Buckcherry, Saving Abel, Shinedown and Avenged Sevenfold show here at the BancorpSouth Arena.

Check back here throughout the night for updates as the show continues, and be sure to read tomorrow’s Daily Journal for a story and photos!

11:12 p.m. – And that’s it…thanks for following along!

11:03 p.m. – The whole Arena started jumping when the band started “Crazy Bitch.” Now I’m wondering what they’re going to do for an encore…may be no point to one, as lots of people are starting to leave…

10:56 p.m. – “Sorry” brings out all the lighters and cell phones…

10:43 p.m. – Performing “Too Drunk…” and everybody’s dancing. Have also performed “Don’t Go Away” and “Rescue Me.”

10:28 p.m. – Buckcherry just started “Lit Up.”

10:23 p.m. – Screens showing everything from the religious to the political. Seen everybody from Jesus to McCain. Performing “Broken Glass.”

10:14 p.m. – Buckcherry starting — huge curtain/screen showing historical stuff, like a TV. Whoa – not so historical anymore, more like loads and loads of women, esp. Marilyn Monroe.

10:09 p.m. – Sorry for lack of updates so far…had to turn in my story for the paper and it’s been a 40 minute break between Avenged Sevenfold and Buckcherry…but Buckcherry will start soon…

9:07 p.m. – The band has performed songs like “Scream” with a new back drop – flying skulls. Very similar to the cover of Guns N Roses’ “Appetite for Destruction.” Just no cross.

8:49 p.m. – A7X lead singer M. Shadows: “I hear we’re in the Bible belt…hate to tell you that you’re in the city of evil.” Performing “Beast and the Harlot.”

8:38 p.m. – Avenged Sevenfold just started – the stage is backed by a huge curtain featuring a demon in a Lincoln’s Memorial kinda pose. Lots of smoke. Lots of screaming and fist pumping…

7:46 p.m. – Lots of cell phones and lighters out for “45.”

7:42 p.m. – I’ve never, ever seen a band get the ENTIRE Arena on its feet, going like this. Shinedown is definitely rocking out.

7:25 p.m. – Shinedown has the crowd on its feet. The band started out with a new single, “Devour,” and on the last drum beat, the huge black curtain behind them fell to reveal a huge Shinedown curtain. Currently rocking out “Heroes.”

6:55 p.m. – Weeks namechecking Amos Lee…kinda random. 🙂 They’re dedicated “Addicted” to all the “Southern girls” in the audience.

6:51 p.m. – Saving Abel lead singer Jared Weeks talking up the upcoming bands and the troops. Also talking about what it’s like to be from the South (the band was formed in Corinth). Performing “Drowning (Face Down)” and has also performed “18 Days.”

6:38 p.m. – The crowd seems to be enjoying Saving Abel, who are on stage now. The band just performed “Beautiful You,” and is now on “New Tattoo.”

Oh man! that was an awesome concert! avenged sevenfold and saving abel rocked out the hardest! About midnight we were all eating at waffle house, and the saving abel guys walked in, and they started talking to us, and we got their autographs and everything! It was so freaking awesome! and WOW, the singer of SA is such a HOTTIE! lol, they were very nice and talkative! We enjoyed their company!

    Until Next Time…
