Music with a Message, Day 1

14 Nov

Hey y’all,

I’m out here at the Link Centre in Tupelo for Music with a Message.

9:11 p.m. – So Be iT is on stage now… with a smoke machine!!  Those boys just won my heart! lol
The crowd has also enjoyed Michael Niblett’s band, Redmption Loves Company.
The Art of Giving In, based out of Birmingham, performed, too, and I think got a few new fans.
The Rag Tag Group will finish the night, so look back here tomorrow for even more updates…

7:56 p.m. – I’ve waited a long time to see The Squids, and they did not disappoint. AWESOME set!!  The guys definitely rocked it.
The Relatives are impressing everybody right now. With a couple of sly tricks up their sleeve, they’ve got lots of hoots and hollers from the audience.

7:08 p.m. – Drew Chapman enlisted Cole Russell (member of Bliss) for his fun acoustic set. He closed it with a cool cover of Michael Jackson’s “Man in the Mirror.”
The Squids, a rock band out of Iuka, is next.

5:15 p.m. – Jamie Davis of Jamie Davis & Soul Gravy is performing a really great acoustic set right now.
Intermission will follow him, followed by more music at 6:30 p.m.

4 p.m. – ish: Took me a little bit to get the Internet set up (thanks Nancie and Melanie!:)) but we’re good to go now. Ryan Stone gave a great performance, and the Ethan Aster band is on stage now. It’s my first time to hear that band, and they’re wonderful.

Look for more updates throughout the day and Saturday. Video and pictures to follow Monday.
