In the Arena, 10/31

31 Oct

Happy Halloween!  I hope the evening holds nothing but treats for all of you.  We’ll be hanging out with Mickey and Minnie Mouse all weekend long as Disney on Ice makes their annual stop at the Arena.  We have two shows Friday, three Saturday, and one on Sunday so you have plenty of opportunities to see everyone’s favorite mouse.  Come see us!

From all reports, last week’s Sugarland concert was a great one.  Thanks to Sheena for blogging throughout the show.  I really think that band has an excellent shot to be the next big thing in country music.  Hopefully we can host them once more before they outgrow our venue.

Upcoming events in the building include Buckcherry/Avenged Sevenfold, Casting Crowns, Carrie Underwood and Cirque du Soleil.  We’re working on a few other things for the winter but nothing that we can announce just yet.  Now’s your chance to suggest possible acts.  Who would you like to see?  Post a comment and let us know who we should be pursuing.

Until next time,

The top 5 things i would like to see in Tupelo.
    1) TNA Wrestling – Awesome Live. Steadily Growing. Great People. you can preview tna at this address

    2) Taylor Swift – She has a wonderful voice. She’s got a new cd coming out called Fearless and a new single called Love Story. You can see the video here:

    3) Another Big Christian rock event like WinterJam is always good and brings in a lot of people. I’ve never seen the Arena so packed until I saw Winterjam this year

    4) Linkin Park would be the rock concert to sell out the arena. you can check out Linkin Parks single for “Leave out all the rest” at

    5) Bringing back Nickelback would be another sell out but im not sure if they have outgrowed the venue or not. They got a new album coming out also called “The Dark Horse” Their new single “Gotta Be Somebody” can be viewed here:

and in the words of Forrest Gump. “thats all i gotta say about that…”

Third Day or Jeremy Camp. I second TNA. I’d love to see them live. Still waiting on Floggin Molly and the Dro[kick Murphy’s.

I would like to see Big & Rich. They are taking some time off right now. But, once they start back touring it would be good if you could get them to come. I know it would be a sell out.

We’ve already discussed my pick: My Chemical Romance. 😀

Speaking of, and re:’ing JRAY’s Linkin Park suggestion, I know My Chem has played Linkin Park’s Projekt Revolution tour. Any chance on getting any kind of WinterJam-style rock tour, similar to Warped or Projekt Revolution? I know a lot of those are outdoors but indoors could work – as WinterJam has proven.
