Scene Picks

9 Oct

What’s happening this weekend? This stuff, and then some…

  • Both M. Scott Morris and Kelli Karlson thought “Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist” was OK. It’s playing now across NeMiss, so check it out for yourself.
  • John West, who we featured in the last section of Scene, will perform at Boondocks tonight.
  • Also tonight is the first-ever Pop-Punkpalooza in Tupelo. Forever & Never, Red Hot Romance, School Boy Humor, The Years Gone By, Faster Faster and Anarbor will perform tonight at Good Time Charlie’s starting at 6 p.m.
  • Starbucks has music every weekend with Dan “The Man” Westmoreland on Fridays and Redemption Loves Company on Sundays.
  • Speaking of Redemption Loves Company, the band’s playing JoeJoe’s at its new location. The coffee house has moved to the old Uptown Coffee location (behind McAlister’s on Gloster). The show is Tuesday night.
  • Tonight at the Link Centre is a free screening of “Built for the People: The Story of TVA.” Show starts at 7 p.m.
  • Don’t forget the Haunted House and Forest in Hurricane (Pontotoc County). It’s every Friday and Saturday night in October.
