In the Arena, 10/3

3 Oct

Can you smell the corndogs?  It’s the inaugural Tupelo Fair!  We’re trying something new this year by bringing a fair onto our grounds.  While most of the time we prefer to be known as a concert venue, we thought this might be a nice diversion from our normal programming.  I was in the area last night while some of the rides were being tested and the lights of the attractions were very appealing.  I must apologize to the fine folks who work in the Tupelo CVB office though; the animal tent is unfortunately located adjacent to their back door…

Here are a few of things to know about the fair:
Parking is available on the west side of the Arena.
There is an admission charge to enter the fair.
The entry gate will be located on the southeast corner of the arena (between the Box Office and the BancorpSouth Conference Center).
For more information and a schedule of times and events, please visit their website:

While the Fair is our main event for the next ten days, we also have other things planned for the month of October.  The Cheetah Girls will bring their “One World” tour to town on Friday, October 17.  Sugarland is stopping by on Thursday, October 23.  And we’ll close the month with Disney on Ice and “Mickey and Minnie’s Magical Adventure” performing Thursday, October 30 through Sunday, November 2.  Good seats still remain for all of these events but they’re selling fast.  Contact the box office to reserve your seats now.

Speaking of ice, we’re working on our public ice skating schedule for November.  We will be offering open skating sessions and will also have private party times available.  Check our Web site for more information in the coming days.

That’s it for this edition of the blog.  Hope to see you at the Fair this weekend.

Until next time,
