What’s Going On – TV Talk, ‘Watchmen,’ ‘Fringe’

2 Oct

Mornin’, Scene cats.

Any good TV on last night?

Again, I enjoyed last night’s “Ghost Hunters.” Kinda strange that in both places, the team had personal experiences, but nothing to back it up. And Jason’s flip-flop incident? Cuh-reepy!

What did you watch last night?

  • Whee! “Watchmen” movie updates. By the way, thanks to everyone who suggested I read that – I finally finished it recently and I LOVED it. Any other graphic novel suggestions?
  • Good news, “Fringe” fans: FOX has picked it up for a whole season.

Stay tuned for even more stories here on Scene Now later today…

Yeah, the whole flip flop thing creeped me out too and when Jason was sleeping in that hotel and those voices that woke him up gave me chills. Just a FYI – I just found out where they are having the halloween special. It’s going to be at Fort Delaware. That should be a good one.

I just bought the Watchmen graphic novel for Daniel for his bday…haven’t read it yet.

Suggestions of ones I own/like: Tank Girl, Ghost World, Neil Gaiman’s Sandman- Preludes and Nocturnes, The Gunslinger Born (based on the Dark Tower series by Stephen King), and if you are a bit gothy like me you’ll probably like Johnny The Homicidal Maniac or Squee by Jhonen Vasquez (same guy who did Invader Zim)

Ah! Jonathon! Thanks for the tip!!! That would be so cool.
No way anybody could get me to stay in the same room Jason was in. The whole ironing board/door thing was really strange too.

Ah! fairy! I think you’ll love “Watchmen.” I really did…it’s awesome. Can’t wait for the movie.

I’ve got “Ghost World” but I read it in spurts, so I still haven’t finished it. Hmmm..Johnny the Homicidal Maniac sounds cool.. I’m also thinking about reading the Preacher series. Anybody like those?

If you haven’t read any Sandman, that should be your next one to read. Absolutely incredible. Also, if you have not read “The Crow”, you should as well.

May be kinda a dumb question, but I guess “The Crow” comics spawned “The Crow” movies?
I loved the first movie — but after Brandon Lee died I didn’t have the heart to see anybody else in that role. But the comics? I could totally get into those…

Thank you for the suggestions — I will put these on my “to-read” list. 🙂
