What’s Going On – TV talk, Newman marathon, Phish

1 Oct

Mornin’, Scene cats.

Ya see that “Things To Do & See” page up there?

That’s new. You remember that huge listing of, well, things to do and see in the back of each week’s Scene? In order to accommodate our smaller section, we took out a lot of the information that rarely changes, and put it here on the blog. So, if you want info on museums, state parks, etc., that’s the page for you.

Let’s talk TV. What have you been watching lately?

This week has been insane so about the only thing I’ve watched is the latest episode of “True Blood,” “Escape from Dragon House.” While I loved the whole vampire bar (Fangtasia? Great name:)) scene, all of Jason’s…um…problems..were just gross.

What are you watching?

  • The Opry will honor its longest-standing member, Little Jimmy Dickens, with a special show Nov. 1. George Jones and Brad Paisley will make an appearance.
  • “The Graysons” is a new show on CW that will focus on Robin’s life before being one-half of Batman & Robin. Yeah, kinda like “Smallville.”
  • GAC has a new show where music veterans give advice to newbies. Soon, Vince Gill and Patty Loveless will mentor Ashton Shepherd – who’ll be playing in Tupelo soon enough.

You watch the new Fringe episode yet? I liked it. It was a little out there, but good none the less.

I also liked Heroes much better this week. I like the turn they are taking with two of the characters.

Not yet! Arg! I’m still only half-way through that episode where the guy was seeing stuff before it happened. It was a really good episode (so far anyway) so I want to finish it before watching this new one. I hope to catch up this weekend!
