In the Arena, 9/19

18 Sep

It’s been a crazy few weeks, but I’m glad to finally be home for at least the next 21 days.  This past weekend I moderated a panel discussion on safety and security at the 19th annual Arena Managers Conference in Kansas City.  Venue operators from around the world gathered to discuss common problems and to meet with many of the people who provide us with programming.  Based on these meetings, I can say with confidence that the BancorpSouth Arena is in outstanding shape for today’s turbulent times.  We have a solid calendar of events lined up for the next few months and ticket sales are on par with other facilities around the country.  So for that, I thank each and every one of you for your support.

Speaking of upcoming events, I thought it would be a good time to review our upcoming calendar.  It’s not too late to buy tickets!

Sept. 26 – Disney Live brings Winnie the Pooh to the Arena.

October 3-12 – The Tupelo Fair makes its debut on our east parking lot.

October 17 – The Cheetah Girls make their north Mississippi debut.

October 23 – Sugarland makes a return visit to the Arena with special guests Kellie Pickler and Ashton Shepherd.

October 30 – November 2 – Disney on Ice skates into town with Mickey and Minnie’s Magical Journey.

December 9 – Carrie Underwood makes her Tupelo debut with special guests Little Big Town.

This isn’t a complete list, but it’s all that we can discuss at the current time.  We’re still working on a few shows for the rest of the fall, and next winter looks to be just as busy.  Hope to see you at an event soon!

Until next time,

We understand that there will be an opening act with the Cheetah Girls. However, we do not have confirmation on that as of yet. Stay tuned…

I saw a week or so ago that Third Day was coming in December. Are they off now?

Your post was the first time I heard anything about a Third Day show in December. We have a Casting Crowns date in December, but no Third Day.

I saw it on their website. Had heard about CC as well. Is their show a Christmas show? As in Xmas music?

The Casting Crowns show is a Christmas show. I don’t know if they’ll be playing any of their hits or if it will be all Christmas music. Sorry for the lack of details. I’ll post more as I know…
