“Dark Knight”

18 Jul

Mornin’, Scene cats.

It’s 3:27 a.m. and I’m just getting back from seeing “The Dark Knight” at midnight.

It was packed out at the Cinemark in Tupelo. There were even some folks decked out in “Batman”-esque outfits.

As for the movie itself – I won’t say much here because I’m working on a review of it for Saturday’s Daily Journal. But I will say this: You know you’re seeing something good when almost everyone in the whole theater says, “Whoa!” at the same time.

After you’ve seen the movie, feel free to comment on here about what you liked, didn’t like, etc. about “The Dark Knight.” Obvs there will be spoilers in the comments, so beware!

I just want to know who is going to play the joker next go around and play it as good as Heath Ledger on a scale of 1 – 10 i give the movie like 25

I loved the other batman movie, but this one was too violent for me. Heath Ledger played the part very well…whew!

Looking forward to seeing this movie.

Donna, I agree with you — this was pretty violent. I was happy it wasn’t bloody, though. I mean, you’d see people get shot or something but there was never any blood.

Yeah, Barry, I have no idea about the next Joker. I guess they’ll just play off like he’s in jail or something?

And was anyone else bothered by some of the scenes with Heath Ledger? Some of them kind of upset me — like the one where the guys told the gangsters that he was dead and they brought in his “dead” body? And the scene in the hospital where he holds the gun to his head? I don’t know, maybe I’m overly sensitive but those parts kinda bugged me.

Overall, though, I loved this movie. I saw it at midnight Thursday/Friday and then again Friday night (I know, twice in 24 hours!). I was surprised at how much I looked forward to seeing it again!

Oh gosh! Two other things I forgot to mention.

Was anybody else annoyed by Christian Bale’s Batman voice? I get that he kinda has to disguise his voice, but geez, I didn’t understand half of what he said as Batman! That HAS to change.

And what did y’all think about Two-Face? I didn’t see that coming until like the last second…oh well. But I thought Aaron Eckhart was great!

The movie was great… I completely forgot about Two-Face.. until they showed Harvey flipping the coin for chance.. then my friend looked over at me and said I bet he turns into Two-Face.. Heath Ledger as the Joker was probably the best job anyone has every done playing the joker… What was your favorite part of the movie? Mine was The Joker as the nurse in the hospital or when he makes the pencil disappear at the little gang meeting or whatever…

Yeah, Jray, the nurse scene is to die for — especially when he’s walking out of the hospital and it’s blowing up behind him. He looked so deranged.

My favorite scene was the big fight in the street — where the 18-wheeler flipped over (it was during that part that everyone went, “WHOA!”) and where Gordon came back, since we all thought he was dead.
I also loved it when the BatPod (wtf happened to the Batmobile? Did I miss something?) was all destroyed and then it turned into a motorcycle.
