In the Arena, 7/18

18 Jul

BY TODD HUNT

You know, I’m quite disappointed that no one called me out on Spinal Tap from last week. So disappointed, that I’m taking a week off from lists. You’ll have to wait at least another week to see who my favorite Canadian acts of all time are. I bet that Geddy can name at least one of the acts on that list, though…

This week has been another week of repairs and renovations in the Arena. We’re still selling tickets for upcoming shows by Sommore/Don “DC” Curry, Staind/Hinder, Disney Live/Winnie The Pooh, and Carrie Underwood/Little Big Town. Yet to come are details on the Sugarland/Kellie Pickler show scheduled for October 23. We’re also working on a few more shows for fall 2008 and winter 2009. Hopefully we’ll be able to talk more about those shows in the next few weeks. If we can work out all of the details, this fall will be one of the best ever for the arena. Stay tuned!

Until next time,

Todd

“Dark Knight”

18 Jul

Mornin’, Scene cats.

It’s 3:27 a.m. and I’m just getting back from seeing “The Dark Knight” at midnight.

It was packed out at the Cinemark in Tupelo. There were even some folks decked out in “Batman”-esque outfits.

As for the movie itself – I won’t say much here because I’m working on a review of it for Saturday’s Daily Journal. But I will say this: You know you’re seeing something good when almost everyone in the whole theater says, “Whoa!” at the same time.

After you’ve seen the movie, feel free to comment on here about what you liked, didn’t like, etc. about “The Dark Knight.” Obvs there will be spoilers in the comments, so beware!
