Vaz Vanelli and Ken Calloway enjoy the cool night on the patio at Papa’s Place.

Hello once again everyone.

Friday night I was invited to Link Centre to enjoy a night of music performed by Parker-Anderson Jazz Trio. The atmosphere was perfect to take in these smooth sounds with cocktail tables, low lights and candles burning.  These guys wasted no time showing off their chops, bringing the very feel of a New York jazz club to life. I enjoyed a variety of song by some jazz greats including John Coltrane, Fred Lacy, Miles Davis, and Thelonious Monk. The trio also played a couple of original pieces. Not only did they sound great, they appeared to enjoy playing together.  From beautiful piano intros to an all out syncopated assault, the entire night was very well paced. If you enjoy the sounds of well crafted piano work, grooving bass and tight drumming, Parker-Anderson Jazz Trio is a must see. Give them a try at

Saturday night, decided to drop by Benjamin’s on Main to give a listen to the Tim Warren Band.  As always, they brought a get show.  It’s an interactive event when Tim plays.  He is a high-energy event from the first song until last call.  The band played classics from every decade and genre, not to mention a few new tunes.  For a night of songs you know and love, go check out Tim Warren.  Give his original music a listen at

That’s all for this week.  Next Friday I will cover stand-up comedy at Vanelli’s and on Saturday night, I’m heading to the Shoal’s area to give my report on Cockfight Club and Punch Throat.  Don’t forget to send pictures of what you did this weekend to and add me to your friends of MySpace at  Have a great week and I’ll see you when the sun goes down.
