Labor Day lullabies

2 Sep

Labor Day is already a pretty terrific thing, but you know what could  make it that much better?

A little music, of course.

Here’s my Labor Day playlist.  It’s full of songs that really aren’t that appropriate for work, because they’re loud, fast, fun or a mix of those. Or they’re just good.

“To Be Young (Is to Be Sad, Is to Be High)” – Ryan Adams
“Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment” – the Ramones
“You Made Me Like It” – 1990s
“Why Don’t We Do It in the Road?” – the Beatles
“Oh My Golly!” – the Pixies
“Lose Control” – Missy Elliott f/ Ciara and Fat Man Scoop
“Astro Zombies” – the Misfits
“Dance Song ’97” – Sleater-Kinney
“You Don’t Know what Love is (You Just Do as You’re Told)” – the White Stripes
“Seconds” – Le Tigre
“Can’t Stop” – Red Hot Chili Peppers
“So What’cha Want” – the Beastie Boys
“Big Me” – Foo Fighters
“I Want to Break Free” – Queen
“Baby I’m a Star” – Prince
“You Only Live Once” – the Strokes
“Lookin’ Out My Back Door” – Creedence Clearwater Revival
“Longview” – Green Day
“Loser” – Beck
“Give It to Me” – Timbaland f/ Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado
“Pure Morning” – Placebo
“Cocaine Blues” – Johnny Cash
“I Slept with Someone in Fall Out Boy and All I Got Was This Stupid Song Written About Me” – Fall Out Boy
“The Only One I Know” – Mark Ronson f/ Robbie Williams
“If You’ve Got the Money I’ve Got the Time” – Willie Nelson
“One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer” – George Thorogood & the Destroyers
“Song 2” – Blur
“Not Fade Away” – the Rolling Stones
“This Boy” – Franz Ferdinand
“Rock Star” – N.E.R.D.
Have a good one.
