Here are some events happening this weekend.

• Justin Patterson & the Lost Causes will perform at Benjamin’s. Learn more about this band in this week’s Scene.

• Rock for a Cause is getting underway tonight in Oxford. Check out Scene for more info.

• Purple Haze in Oxford is starting an open mic night on Sundays. The first one is this Sunday and it starts at 6 p.m. Yoga classes are also back, starting Saturday.

• The Independent Film Series will present “Angela’s Decision” at tonight at 6:30 at the Link Centre in Tupelo.

• “Drillbit Taylor” didn’t get stellar reviews from Scene’s M. Scott Morris and Kelli with Wizard 106. See it for yourself, as it’s playing in theaters across NeMiss.

• Check out Thacker Mountain Radio at 5:30 p.m. at Off-Square Books if you’re in Oxford. Tonight’s authors are Susan Gregg Gilmore and Joshilyn Jackson, and tonight’s musicians are the Jazz Vipers. Can’t be there in person? Tune into Rebel Radio 92.1 to hear it live.
