February 28, 2008 · 4 Comments

Happy Thursday…it’s my Friday and duuude I can’t wait for the weekend. Not for any particular reason other than I’m looking forward to another “Angel” packed weekend. :)

Items of interest…

  • Disney has a new video game, “Ultimate Band,” that will compete against games like “Rock Band” or “Guitar Hero.”
  • Coldplay has a new record coming out and Rolling Stone is all over it.

Oh, Diva of Movieland! I need your help. I want to rent the fourth season of The O.C. but I can’t find it anywhere in NeMiss. I’ve called the majority of the rental places around and no one has it. Blockbuster in Tupelo did, but then someone kept it and the store isn’t reordering it. What can I do?

    Howdy Carlie!
Gee, that’s a really good question.

Perhaps Top Shelf Records in Corinth has it? They sell records but rent out videos, too. Here’s their Web site: http://www.myspace.com/topshelfrecords

    For Chris Thomas King fans:

Chris co-stars with Steven Seagal in the upcoming crime drama KILLING POINT, directed by Jeff King, which is expected to be in theaters overseas this summer and possibly available in the USA on STV around (HBO/TNT etc) around September. Chris (who played Delta bluesman Tommy Johnson in O BROTHER, WHERE ART THOU? and bandleader Lowell Fulson in RAY) plays a detective who tracks a pair of serial killers to Memphis in this high-action thriller. The DVD will be distributed in the U.S. by First Look International and worldwide by Peace Arch Films.

KILLING POINT will not include any of his music, but he does have a new collection entitled LIVE ON BEALE STREET (recorded in 1997) currently available from iTunes and other digital distributors and on CD at select locations. A “Best of” collection is also in the works.
